Welcome to the website of the AttentionLab, the research group headed by Stefan Van der Stigchel. AttentionLab is part of the Department of Experimental Psychology of Utrecht University. Here you will find an overview of our work and find information about the PhD students and master students involved in the lab. All news and publications from members of the lab will also be posted here. The research conducted by AttentionLab is partly supported by a VIDI-grant, awarded by NWO.

The aim of AttentionLab is to study 'attention' and 'visual awareness' in their broadest terms in the healthy population but also in a clinical setting. In AttentionLab, we study attention and visual awareness using various methods, such as obstacle avoidance, eye movement recordings, lesion overlap and flash suppression. We study these functions in various patient populations, like hemianopia, visual neglect and Korsakoff's syndrome. Our aim is to provide a rich interaction between experimental psychology and neuropsychology with the ultimate goal to solve the puzzle about how we create a perception of our world.
